To truly experience and understand what it is to be at the wheel of one of BMW’s ‘Ultimate Driving Machines’ – without the limitations of road rules – you must attend one of the highly-reviewed BMW Driving Experiences. Nowhere else can you experience the thrill afforded by iconic BMW vehicles, all with the guidance of a professional, at some of the most well-known racing tracks in the country: Oulton Park, Knockhill, Bedford Autodrome, Brands Hatch and Thruxton.

The BMW Driving Experiences comprise of the BMW M Experience and the BMW Range Experience. Two experiences, with different highlights, but with the same driving pleasure. The main difference is of course between the models, the BMW M Experience gives you a taste of some of our most-loved M models, including the BMW M2, BMW M4, and BMW M6.

The BMW Range Experience gives you the opportunity to buckle up behind the wheel of a range of BMW models, including the BMW i8, BMW X and BMW M and M Performance models. You can find individual programs here.

Both day’s feature a wet handling session where you’ll learn how to handle a car like a professional driver. BMW’s expert instructors then take you through the difference in acceleration and handling in more challenging skid pan conditions. Luckily, all of the instructors are professional drivers so there’s never a need to worry when taking a corner a little fast.

Depending on the session you attend, you’ll break for either lunch or afternoon tea, where the focus isn’t taken off the track day – BMW Brand Ambassadors, which include celebrities from the world of Motorsport, will join you for a chat about the day and answer any of your questions.

One of the highlights of both of the experiences is the MSV M4 Experience which lasts an hour. This section is an in-depth review of the technicalities to racing. BMW racing systems take in all the data of you, the driver’s, technique, speed and any gaps in skill to then feed in the BMW data analytics system so instructors know what needs to be improved on as soon as a lap is completed. This means that data is up-to-date and creates an explosive learning curve that always leaves drivers with more than they come in with.

Finally, to tie up the entire experience and if there wasn’t enough speed over the course of the day, there’s a half an hour hot lap. A race-prepared BMW M235i driver is often told this is the most exciting and heart pumping experience of the whole day as the professional drivers take it closer to the edge than it would have been thought possible.
